BELLA VISTA
Located in Bella Vista, this project transformed an awkward and underutilised area surrounding the existing pool into a cohesive outdoor environment designed for relaxation, entertaining and family enjoyment. The client's brief was to maximise usable space and create a seamless connection between outdoor zones while ensuring the landscape could be enjoyed by all ages.
The design focused on reducing level changes, improving flow between areas and creating distinct outdoor spaces that felt connected without being crowded. A key objective was to replace the dark and enclosed feel of the original landscape with a more open, contemporary aesthetic that complemented the home and encouraged year-round use.

The transformation included a complete redesign and remediation of the existing landscape, with new terraces, retaining walls, paving, decking and outdoor living areas carefully integrated throughout the site. The existing pool was reimagined as the centrepiece of the landscape, with generous pool surrounds creating space for lounging, entertaining and everyday enjoyment. A cantilevered shade structure was incorporated to provide protection from the elements while maintaining an open and unobtrusive feel.
Extensive construction works included site excavation, natural stone retaining walls, pool construction, pool surrounds, raised decking, outdoor entertaining areas, stone stairs, pathways, frameless glass pool fencing, planting, turf installation, automated irrigation and comprehensive drainage solutions.
The planting palette was selected to soften the structural elements of the landscape while enhancing the contemporary design. Cascading and trailing species including Crassula and Dichondra were used to spill over retaining walls and garden edges, creating movement and visual softness throughout the space. Heliconia and Strelitzia were incorporated as feature plants, adding architectural form, lush foliage and a resort-style feel that complements the surrounding outdoor living areas.
